Sustainability

All of the cord that I use in my designs are lovingly handmade from sustainable materials.

Cord created from plant fibres is biodegradable and kinder to the environment. These include 100% recycled cotton cord made from old cotton sheets, both from landfill or waste fibres, twine, jute and hemp. All branches are forested from the ground when I’m out walking the dog, bringing new life into natures gifts. Or if I’m lucky, driftwood from the local beaches!

There are tonnes of waste within the wedding industry and I am therefore very mindful of the planet when designing new items. I try to adopt a greener way of working, nothing goes to waste, even left-over cord can be reused for fringes!

I also look at ways of reducing my packaging too. Whether this is reusing cardboard boxes, tissue paper or the occasional bubble wrap; through to plastic free tape. Introducing a couple of simple practices therefore helps to improve my packaging footprint, and means that I can even pass savings onto you.

I also love to find alternative methods of repurposing and upcycling an existing item to give it a new lease of life with macrame. You can often find me trailing car boots sales, antique fairs or charity shops for finds when time allows. I love a creative challenge!
